Are you thinking of giving up trying for a job? Consider this before going ahead...
There are times in our lives when we think almost like giving up. Why? Because that’s all we could have done till now or because we think we have given our best and yes, it might be true as well. However, there are things we need to consider before we drop off everything that we have done till then.
1. Have I really given by best till date?
If the answer comes No, then look for the areas where you could have given just a bit more to make it happen and writing a new story. If the answer comes Yes, then look for the experiences that you had encountered by then. Maybe that the best one or the one that was meant for you was not out yet. It could be just around the corner, don’t lose hope, you will definitely get there.
2. What is it that made others reach the goal and you didn’t?
You might be lacking some of the new skills right out there in the market and which you were not aware of. So, checkout and talk to the people in the same field and understand what are the current skills that you need to acquire before you apply again.
3. If one door closes, the other one will open for sure. Have patience.
I understand that it might be really frustrating at times when you wanted some job the most but it slips off for an unknown reason. Stop there! Have patience. I know it is easily said than done. But, it might be that the right time is yet to come. Keep trying, your dream is just there.
4. Have you aligned your skills with your goal?
Do you really think that you have got it all which was necessary to crack that job you wanted the most or there’s some more you can do. Check it out for the skills for your job and put in efforts to become the best talent ever the recruiter can find.
5. Have you chosen the appropriate job or there is another one best suited for you?
One more reason could be that your skills are meant for something else but you chose that job because your long lost dream was to achieve it. It’s time to analyze and get your hands on the best one suited for you.
6. Don’t get swayed away by the trending jobs market. Everyone is different.
Nowadays, we think that we should opt for some job because it is trending right now. I get that you need to be aware and it is very important. But have you analyzed it fully before moving ahead? Will you be satisfied once you get into it? Is it exactly the one you wanted to go for? Are you under the peer pressure to opt for it? Such questions are very important to be answered before you start searching and applying for jobs. Not everyone is suited for every job. Give it a thought before going ahead. It’s your career and it’s going to stay with you for long.
