What has happened?
As part of the on-going outreach for the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 (AGIF’25), the ISCC team, hosted a press conference in New Delhi on September 8th, Monday. Anchored around the festive theme “Tyohaar, Nayi Khushiyon Ka,” the event saw attendance from 120 journalists from 87 publications spanning national, business, and regional media. The event brought the ‘One Amazon’ narrative to life, showcasing how our customer-first innovations, seller empowerment programs, and operational expansion are cementing Amazon’s position as India’s most trusted festive shopping destination. We also issued a press release announcing the dates, 45 new delivery stations and new seller initiatives, that was shared 30 minutes before with employees and on About Amazon.

The press conference was led by the following leaders:
·         Samir Kumar (Country Manager, Amazon India) announced the date for AGIF’25 and outlined Amazon’s vision to shape the future of e-commerce in India
·         Saurabh Srivastava (Vice President, Categories, Amazon India) spotlighted category trends, innovations, specific storefront for various customers, and festive deals
·         Abhinav Singh (Vice President, Operations, Amazon India & Australia) emphasized delivery readiness and announced the opening of 45 new delivery stations
·         Amit Nanda (Director, Selling Partner Services, Amazon India) detailed seller-first initiatives empowering over 17 lakh sellers
·         Kishore Thota (Director, Shopping Experience, Amazon India) showcased innovations in personalization and discovery and AI; and
·         Vikas Bansal (CEO, Amazon Pay India) shared key milestones for Amazon Pay Later and reiterated vision to make payments seamless and rewarding

Adding to the vibrancy, popular standup artists hosted Sugandha Mishra and Sanket Bhosle steered the conversations in an engaging, lively format that brought Amazon’s festive vision to life.

Festive readiness: At the event, we facilitated 25 one-on-one media interactions with Amazon leaders engaging top-tier publications such as Times of India, The Economic Times, The Hindu Business Line, NDTV, CNBC TV 18, ET Now and a 20 minutes show with Samir, Abhinav and Vikas Bansal with Zee Business TV Channel. These interactions provided deeper context around festive preparedness, seller empowerment, and customer innovations. The IN Sellers PR team pre-aligned five embargoed interviews (FE, Business Standard, Fortune India, ET Retail, YourStory), where Amit Nanda highlighted Amazon as a trusted SMB enabler, showcasing how artisans, women entrepreneurs, and MSMEs use AI-driven tools to innovate, scale, and capture festive demand.

Employee Engagement: An exclusive opportunity was extended to corporate employees in Delhi to attend the event and join Samir Kumar for lunch. The activity received 226 entries, with 10 Amazonians shortlisted through a quiz. In addition, employees were encouraged to participate in a quiz (data awaited) on major festive season announcements for a chance to win exciting rewards, including Echo Dots, Echo Shows, and Amazon Gift Cards.

Social Amplification: To further amplify the experience for Amazon employees, the Social team showcased the event through the employees’ perspective instead of a traditional wrap reel. The 10 selected Amazonians doubled as reel hosts, capturing their journey, from engaging with fellow Amazonians and enjoying Sugandha and Sanket’s lively performances, to the highlight moment: an exclusive lunch with Samir Kumar. This employee-first approach made the content more authentic, relatable, and celebratory of the festive spirit. The reel is live on Amazon News India Instagram channel.
