Did you know that salespeople who use storytelling techniques close deals 30% faster on an average? During my first year at airtel , one of the guides in my projects, excelled at closing deals, even with uninterested clients. The secret? His storytelling magic!

I had often seen him, talking like a true storyteller, “In Pune, we had a customer, did so and so….” and would go on. He didn't necessarily pitch a different product, but he presented it in a way that resonated with the client's needs. I was quite impressed, that made me also incorporate the storytelling in my presentations quite often and I think that has helped me a lot lately. In sales (and beyond!), stories are powerful tools for connection. Sometimes, more powerful than your product alone.

Now, is Storytelling only for sales folks? I’ve seen founders and leaders who’re good storytellers, build successful brands and teams. One such brand which comes into my head is The Whole Truth Foods, which resonates so well with the audience as a clean food label and stands out as an honest & healthier brand. What are your tips for a good storytelling? Also, any other startup which comes to your mind for being a storyteller?
